  Jim Essick, Producer and Camerman

Born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1934, Jim has worn many interesting hats while on his journey to winning an Academy of Film Arts Award.

Spending 30 years as a Librarian in three States, his 27 year military career includes tours in the Navy and Army. He retired as a Master Sargent.

In 1972 he moved to Silver City, New Mexico where he was employed by Western New Mexico University. In charge of the Library and the Audio Visual Department, he was Building Manager and Stage Manager of the University's 1000 seat Auditorium and the 320 seat Light Hall Auditorium. He supervised as many as 8 performances a month.

"Voices New Mexico Productions" was established in January 2006 and has produced one Documentary for the NAACP Las Cruces Chapter on the "Black Service Man in the Military", a comedy/mystery entitled "The New Mexico Weed Whacker Massacre" (currently on sale through "Voices New Mexico Productions" and Amazon.com as well as a new Feature Film, "Long Gun of New Mexico" currently in post production.

His credits also include promotional video productions for local businesses, one special dinner/award program as well as eight (8) one-half hour training sessions for a local emergency response group.

He has worked as a story and script writer, camerman and producer, Currently, Jim is writing a science fiction novel - which may be his next feature fiim!
